Workshop Summary:
Many States have conducted FMD Eradication Exercises, but there have been few opportunities to further Business Continuity planning on a National scale. This Workshop will provide five of the largest US food animal production states, the opportunity to discuss species specific, regional business continuity issues that would occur during an increased threat or outbreak of FMD. Prior to the workshop, the participating States' Officials (Iowa, Kansas, Wisconsin, California and North Carolina) will have worked with their respective Industry reps to conduct assessments to prepare their Outbriefings. The States' presentations will highlight business continuity issues for the food animal production center located in their state. The workshop will culminate with a scenario driven exercise that will allow the States to work through Regionalization and Compartmentalization issues on a national level.
